Rev. Andy Hobbs

Andy was licensed as Vicar of Cofton Hackett and Barnt Green in May 2022. Previously he trained for ordination at Trinity College, Bristol before serving his curacy in Bromley, South London and his first incumbency in Cliffe, Kent. Whilst born in Barnet, North London, Andy was mainly raised in Chester and on the Wirral. Prior to ordination, he spent a year in Uganda with the Church Mission Society and 13 years working as a Youth and Children’s worker.

Andy completed his first degree at Hull University studying history and his Master’s degree at Moorlands College studying Applied Theology and Christian Leadership.

An avid Liverpool Football Club Fan (through good times and bad), Andy also enjoys reading, walking and building Lego.

Andy met his wife, Jill, on holiday in Portugal and were married in Bewdley Baptist Church. Jill is a trained PE teacher and spent time prior to the 2012 Olympics training Primary teachers how to teach various sports including handball and netball. Jill enjoys travelling and has spent time on mission trips in Armenia, Argentina, South Africa and Uganda.
