“Together we will spread the Good News ”

Welcome to our church website. For the church as for the rest of society we have seen great upheaval over the last two years. Many services are now shown on Zoom as well as taking place in church. Also, since June 2021 the Parish has been without a vicar, following the retirement of the Rev Rob Fieldson. Until we welcome a new vicar, we continue to provide a range of worship services and pastoral care through our lay team with support from local clergy.

Please go to the weekly newsletter for more information about the activities of the church and for times and log-in information.

We continue to provide creative resources to help children engage with faith. For details contact Caroline Mara our Children’s and Families Missioner on 07935 245244 or see the St Andrews and St Michaels Family Facebook Group.

COVID 19-Safe Measures July 2021 for St Michaels, St Andrews and the Parish Centre.

Following the UK Government’s adoption on 19th July of Step 4 on the Roadmap for Covid recovery, the PCC met on the 20th July and reviewed what our attitude should be to opening-up Church and social activities in the Parish Centre.

It was decided that a cautious approach was still needed, whilst seeking to relax some restraints and to offer something for as many people as possible. The approach is summarised below: –

1. Where full 2m social distancing is not possible, face masks to be worn in church and during congregational singing, which will be permitted.

2. Around the Parish Centre face mask to be worn in circulating spaces including WC’s and kitchen. Also, in meetings/activities where other mitigating actions cannot be taken.

3. Mitigating actions should be adopted wherever possible and these include :

Social distancing. Hand sanitisation on entering and leaving our buildings and at outdoor activities. Good ventilation by either being outdoors or the opening of windows and doors for the duration of inside gatherings. The cleaning of all touchable hard surfaces following such activities.

4. The numbers of people permitted to attend any activity in church, in the Parish Centre or outdoors will be determined by specific Risk Assessments, but the guiding principle will to ensure the reasonable safety of all those attending or likely to be affected, and therefore constraints will apply in some cases.

A Prayer For This Time

Loving God, we pray to you through Christ the Healer for those across the world who suffer from Covid-19.

We pray too for all who mourn the loss of someone who has died from the disease.

Give wisdom to policymakers, skill to healthcare professionals and researchers, comfort to everyone in distress, and a sense of hope for us all in these days of uncertainty and fear.

We ask this in Jesus’ name.

Amen.
